James Talarico — former teacher, eighth-generation Texan — is running to fight corruption in Washington and make life more affordable for Texas families.
A teacher who fights for working families
James Talarico grew up in Round Rock, Texas. He earned his bachelor's degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's in education policy from Harvard University.
Before running for office, James taught middle school language arts at a public school in San Antonio. He's served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2019, fighting against GOP attacks on public education, voting rights, and reproductive freedom.
Now he's taking his fight against corruption to Washington — because the real divide in this country isn't left vs. right. It's top vs. bottom.
Fighting for Texas families on the issues that matter
Getting billionaire mega-donors and dark money out of politics. Fighting for transparent government that works for people, not corporate interests.
Making life more affordable for working families — lowering costs for housing, groceries, and everyday essentials while ensuring the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share.
As a former teacher, James knows firsthand: invest in public schools, pay teachers what they deserve, and stop the push to defund public education with voucher schemes.
Expanding access to quality, affordable health care for every Texan. No one should go bankrupt because they got sick.
Protecting personal freedom and standing against Christian nationalism. Faith should bring people together, not be weaponized to divide us.
Commonsense border security paired with a humane, orderly immigration system that reflects Texas values and fixes what's broken.
Holding Big Tech accountable, protecting kids online, and ensuring AI is developed responsibly with guardrails that protect working people.
Keeping communities safe while reforming a justice system that too often fails the people it's supposed to serve.
Standing with workers who built Texas — protecting the right to organize, raising wages, and supporting small businesses over corporate monopolies.
Rural Texas deserves broadband, hospitals, and economic opportunity. Investing in small towns and farming communities that feed and power our state.
Restoring American leadership on the world stage with smart diplomacy, strong alliances, and a foreign policy that keeps Texans safe.
Texas leads the nation in energy — let's lead the clean energy future too, creating jobs and protecting our land, air, and water for the next generation.
Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, whether you're a progressive or a conservative, the real fight in this country is not left versus right. It's top versus bottom.— James Talarico
